Camp Gilbert and COVID-19
Will COVID-19 vaccinations be required?
Yes. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, by order of the Board of Directors for Camp Gilbert, Inc., all campers must be vaccinated per current CDC guidance. Your provider report also requires verification of COVID-19 vaccination status.
Campers are expected to be in compliance with current CDC guidance as of the start of camp.
Meaning, if your camper, per CDC guidance, requires a booster due to being out of the 5-month window, and that booster has to have two weeks to be viable, that shot has to be given by no later than June 5. Similarly, if your camper needs a second dose, per CDC guidance, those same parameters would apply.
*These examples were outlined on 2/1/2022. They are meant to be used as examples, not CDC confirmed guidance as that is subject to change.

Do I need to send the Provider's Report to my provider?
Yes. It is your responsibility to submit the Provider's Report to your provider and have them complete it.
This can be completed by a primary care provider or office. The form asks for an A1C after January 1, 2022. You may need to make arrangements for an appointment to get this done.
In the past several years, we have had more campers not turning in physician’s reports until the last minute. If you do not have your form turned in by May 18th, your camper’s reserved spot may be forfeited.
If you have an appointment scheduled shortly after this date, please contact us to make arrangements for this to be accepted late. Contact camp staff via email or text/call (605) 610-8775 if you have questions.

What if I need to cancel my camper spot?
We realize that situations may arise that change your plans. If a cancellation is made prior to June 1st, your payment will be refunded if we are able to fill the camper spot with another camper from the waiting list. No refunds will be processed after June 1st.
Please contact camp staff via email or text/call (605) 610-8775 as soon as possible if your child will not be attending camp, so that we can allow a camper from the waiting list to attend.
Unfortunately, in past years, we have had campers that are registered but do not arrive for camp, and did not cancel in advance. In these instances, another camper was not able to be added. Due to this, if a camper does not arrive for camp as scheduled, Camp Gilbert reserves the right to decline that camper’s future application to attend Camp Gilbert.
